Why is Individual Therapy important?
With a focus on the family structure, we work together to gain insight into the development of the ‘self’ and the lasting effects of early communications, influences and relationships which deeply affect one’s present day world. Rather than seeing individual therapy as some patients do—as a means of simply avoiding the pain—I work with people to enable them to understand and ‘get in touch’ with their own inner reality, and make peace with these feelings, their past, their inner selves. The growth of the Individual and the integration of all the parts of the self is a supreme goal of my therapy.
Who is Individual Therapy for?
I work with individuals who have experienced failed or unfulfilled relationships and are interested in establishing gratifying ones and/or finding direction in their lives. In addition, I work with individuals dealing with childhood trauma (abuse, abandonment, neglect), co-dependency (major focus on another person), addiction (alcoholism, sex, drugs, gambling), eating disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, divorce, grief or loss of a loved one, intimacy issues, depression, anxiety disorders, stress, sexual issues , sexual identity questions and difficulty in caring for elderly parents. .
Finding Answers to Healthier Living
My practice has developed over the years, mostly by referral, to include many patients from the entertainment field, many working professionals and executives, as well as individuals facing a career change and retirement. I have an active patient load which includes all types of people in all age groups, and very much enjoy working with children and adolescents as well as the elderly.
When to seek Individual Therapy
- Are you having a difficult time dealing with stress?
- Does your life feel unfulfilled?
- Do you have problems at work?
- Do you doubt yourself when you’re challenged?
