Licensure & Professional Credentials

Patti German, M.Ed., LMFT
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
New York State License #000081

With over 27 years of experience providing psychotherapy, I specialize in helping individuals, couples, and families navigate relationship challenges, improve communication, and develop healthier, more fulfilling connections.

My work as a Marriage and Family Therapist is grounded in Family Systems Theory, with a focus on differentiation, relationship patterns, family dynamics, and how our family-of-origin experiences shape the way we understand ourselves and relate to others.

Meet Patti German

My goal is to help people lead more fulfilling lives.

I believe that our earliest relationships and experiences within our families of origin can have a lasting influence on how we see ourselves and how we relate to others. Understanding these patterns can help us make meaningful changes in our relationships and in our lives.

My therapeutic approach is grounded in Family Systems Theory. I help individuals, couples, and families develop a clear and confident sense of who they are while remaining connected to the people who matter to them. Differentiation allows us to become more fully ourselves without losing important relationships.

I provide Individual Therapy, Couples Therapy, and Family Therapy as a Marriage and Family Therapist on the Upper West Side of New York City.

In therapy, we explore how your family-of-origin experiences may influence the way you communicate, connect, protect yourself, and respond to others. Together, we look at the patterns that may be affecting your relationships and develop healthier ways of relating that allow you to stay connected without losing yourself.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I have over 27 years of experience providing psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families. I specialize in couples therapy, marriage counseling, family therapy, and relationship counseling, helping people navigate relationship challenges, improve communication, and develop healthier, more fulfilling connections.

Getting to know and understand yourself is an important part of creating relationships that are satisfying, meaningful, and lasting. I invite you to reach out to me to discuss how therapy may help you move toward the relationships and life you want.
