therapy for healthier living

Do I need therapy? Is there something wrong with me if I do? These kinds of questions deeply concern those struggling in their lives. People enter my practice for one common reason: to enhance the quality of their lives.

Feeling lonely, betrayed, frustrated, confused, stuck or any combination of these emotions impairs our ability to live the life we desire. Failed or unfulfilling relationships, unsuccessful or disappointing career situations, general dissatisfaction, apathy, crisis, trauma and death are among the many reasons to explore therapy.

Contrary to certain myths, therapy is not for people who are "deranged", “messed up”, "weird" or are unable to contribute to society. In fact, quite the opposite is true. Therapy serves as a positive medium which allows people to develop a deeper understanding of themselves in our increasingly complex world, so that they may make productive decisions which lead to their own personal happiness.

Through the work we do together, people redesign their lives and emerge with a powerful sense of self, and as a result, the ability to enjoy life in a most rich and meaningful way.

Finding Answers to Healthier Living
My focus, expertise and specialization is in the dysfunctional interpersonal relationships of individuals, among couples and within families, including parent/child involvement and sibling interaction. My work helps explore the familial patterns, inhibitions and legacies that contribute to impaired functioning, building insights that encourage change. This change will, generally, create adjustments that reverberate within the entire family, work or relationship system. Many who require direction in their lives, or have experienced failed or unfulfilling relationships - yet yearn for a gratifying one - continue to find tremendous success through their work with me. Couples desiring enhanced communication, a deepening of intimacy or, conversely, need help in preparing for separation or adjusting to divorce also learn to recreate a perspective on life based on a deeper understanding of their true motivation.

All tell me they "find my warmth and empathy" a significant contributing force in their healing process.

Mother & Daughter Sessions
Mothers and daughters have a special relationship which often becomes a struggle. I create a unique opportunity for mothers and daughters to effectively communicate with each other. I co-facilitate the especial group with my own daughter.
